Over the past eight years, I have created eleven companies, raised more than $250,000 from investors, sold a company for more than $1,000,000, and traveled to more than 20 countries. I have been so incredibly fortunate to live this life and have learned so much along the way. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed helping and encouraging people to live lifeto the fullest and chase their dreams. Over the years, I have realized you don’t need to have the highest IQ or be a genius to create a life you love. You just need to be determined on obtaining your dreams and be willing to take a risk.
I believe there are always a handful of crucial moments in a person’s life where you need to make a tough decision that will pave your future. For me, it was back in 2010 when I decided to quit my full time job at a respected financial firm to pursue my dream of entrepreneurship. That one decision put me on my way to the position I’m in now. I absolutely love my life!
My businesses are location independent, which means I can travel around the world and work from wherever I want. Since I’m my own boss, I can decide how many hours I want to work each day and don’t need to ask for permission if I want to take days off. However, my life could have turned out a lot different if I didn’t have the courage to take a risk and quit my job. Sure, my company was gaining traction, but I was not making any revenue at the time that I quit. If you would have asked most people what to do, they would have said to stick with the “safe” job.
It wasn’t an easy decision to make but I knew I didn’t want to be stuck in an office until I was 65 doing something I wasn’t passionate about just so I could maybe retire 45 years from then. Nothing in this life is guaranteed, so who even knew if I was going to live until 65. Millions of people come across these crucial decisions and the majority of people let fear hold them back from making the choice that is in their heart.
After seeing hundreds of real-life examples of this over the years, I decided I wanted to create something that would help others with creating a life that they want to live. In today’s society, the majority of us are followers and we are constantly told not to scribble outside the lines and just follow a blueprint for a “good” life. From my experience, the blueprint is go to college, get a respectable job at a big company once you graduate, get married, have kids, and then if you’re lucky, when you get to the age of 65, you should be able to retire and do what you want with your life.
Why do we always listen so much to what others say? Why do we need to do something just because everybody else is doing it? It seems to me the majority of people around the world dislike their jobs and would rather be doing something else. So, why don’t they just make a change and do what they want? I believe the two main reasons are fear and lack of determination.
One of my favorite quotes is, “People may doubt what you say but they will believe what you do.” I always hear people say, “I’m going to do this” and, “I’m going to do that,” however, I find that many people who say that don’t actually follow through.
I created #ForeverVacation because I was tired of seeing people wasting away day after day doing something they don’t truly love. I knew if I could create the life I wanted to live, then everyone else could do the same. I deemed the name #ForeverVacation because that is how I feel each day when I wake up. I feel like I am always on a vacation. I have the opportunity to go wherever I want and to do whatever I want with my time.
Over the years, I have helped hundreds of people in make tough decisions, start companies, and travel more. Now is the time I want to bring my knowledge to people around the world, rather than my immediate circle. I want the principles in #ForeverVacation to help you make tough decisions, make more money, and create a life you want to live.
Comedian great, Jim Carrey, said at a commencement address in 2014, “You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”
I hope #ForeverVacation will help you take a risk and chase after your dream. Life is too short to be doing something you don’t love!
