Wat Phra Singh, with its beautiful Lai Kham Chapel and revered Phra Singh Buddha image, and Wat Chedi Luang, where the Great Stupa partially survives from its original 15th-century grandeur, are must-visits.

For those interested in Thai art and history, the Lanna Folklife Museum offers incredible insight into the region's past. Meandering through the streets, you will come across pockets of tranquility in the form of tucked-away cafes, artisan boutiques, and hidden temples that most tourists pass by without notice. A tip from me: look for the various 'soi' (small streets) filled with street art and galleries for a contemporary twist to your historical journey.
