History of the KL Tower
The KL Tower was built in 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia's independence. The tower was designed by Hijjas Kasturi Associates and was built by a consortium of Malaysian and Japanese companies. The tower was officially opened on May 1, 1995 by the then Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad.
